Arbitration Signings

Expect to see more signings in the next few days from Atlanta. The Braves have until midnight tonight to offer contracts to all of their arbitration players. The list includes:

-Marcus Giles
-Oscar Villareal
-Chris Reitsma
-Jorge Sosa
-Horacio Ramirez
-Jim Brower

All are expected to to recieve a contract except for Brower. I'll update when the specifics come in.

Update 12/21-Atlanta offered contracts before the deadline last night to Giles, Villareal, Reitsma, Sosa, and HoRam. Brower and newly acquired Wes Obermueller were not offered contracts. Brower will take his services to another team while, Obermueller may or may not strike a minor league deal.

  • Just a comment on the post. Giles is going to get a big paycheck quite possibly 4 million for next year. If Giles can't return to the Giles of 2003 then the Braves will deal him before free agency.
