Blank progresses on Braves purchase

Reports are circulating that Mr. Home Depot Arthur Blank is in discussions with Time Warner on purchase of the Atlanta Braves. Originally reported back in December, Blank has claimed interest in the team. Don't expect this to be an overnight venture. Atlanta has been appraised for $400M. Blank has been the most outgoing suitor to purchase the team and it very well might happen. Time Warner wants to push cable channel Turner South as apart of the deal, but Blank is not interested in the station. As I said back in Dec. I'll report more when news breaks.

  • Blank potentially buying the Braves...how do you feel about it? Good for the franchise? Not so good? I admit I don't know much about him outside of his dealings with the Falcons and Home Depot, but he seems like a guy willing to invest a great deal into whatever business venture he is serious about - could the Braves return to the upper, upper class of big money spending teams?
