It's Official: Braves enter the Cellar

I guess it was only a matter of time before this was to happen. A sparkle of hope last night turned into yet another bullpen blown game. Can't we just win a single game anymore!! On top of it all, we are outfanned by the so called Red Sox Nation. What the hell? This is just another sad feat for an already sad year in Braves baseball. The Braves have the day off today, before taking on the Blue Jays for 3.

  • The question is how long they linger at the bottom.

If Mgt does not invest in the team, a long time.

  • Your right, if the new ownership comes in and doesn't give a rat's ass about the team, then were screwed. We'll end up as another baseball team with crappy mgmt.

On the flipside I can't imagine that happening to the Braves. Atlanta has been so good for so long that the team can and will bounce back next year.
Atlanta has been riding a fine line since what I call the breakup of 2003. To me, Atlanta fielded a World Series capable team, but Wood/Prior just happenend to be in the way. Look at them now, both were overworked back then and today have trouble staying healhly let alone pitching effectively. After 2003, the Braves have slowly been unable to retain the talent needed for a championship team. Last year we rode the youth movement which gave the team a new interest or spark. This year lack of funds, inexperience, losing free agents are all crashing down on us. Something that some people expected to happen last year. Sorry to ramble, but I don't think the Braves will be down for long. Hopefully after looking at this year the team will finally realize what it is we need and get it.
